As a Rotary exchange student I hope to learn something about the Japanese culture, and teach something of the New Zealand culture to those I interact with and to learn to speak the Japanese language fluently. I am especially interested in Japanese cuisine. I look forward to sharing my experiences when I get back, and hopefully encourage more people to do what I think will be an amazing experience. I especially am looking forward to mixing and socialising with students of my own age in Japan and to experience real Japanese family life – something I doubt would be possible later in life as a tourist or when I’m older.
