For me this youth exchange opportunity symbolises the chance to gain a whole new perspective on life, all whilst living amongst amazing people in an exotic and intriguing new country. During my time abroad I aim to become as actively involved in the local community as possible, overcome language barriers, most importantly make lifelong friends. I also hope that I am able to find inspiration and beauty and them then on be able to make a more significant contribution in my own local community on my return to New Zealand as a result of my growth into a more socially aware, tolerant and confident young woman.
